Good questions
Before you begin.
Should I do a trial lesson?
A single lesson is a low-risk way to see how a trainer teaches and how your dog responds. Prepay for a bundle only after that.
What is a good sign in the first conversation?
A trainer who asks about your dog's history and your goals before talking about methods.
What should worry me?
Promises of instant results, harsh tools or a refusal to explain what happens in a session.
Is it fine to ask for references?
Yes. Just remember that this site cannot vouch for any trainer.
